Hello, my name is Jennifer Anguiano! I was born and raised here in Amarillo, with my family originating from Jalisco, Mexico. I am currently a student at Amarillo College studying Business Administration and will transfer to WTAMU after receiving my Associate’s Degree in May 2021. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, boxing and painting. I have been a part of the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for 1 year. I look forward to creating greater relationships and continuing to provide helpful resources, especially to our Hispanic Community.
While working as the Office Manager at the AHCC, I have been able to see our involvement and the impact we make, not only in Amarillo, but also in surrounding areas. It’s great to see how different businesses flourish, while allowing the AHCC to be a part of their success. I’m excited for what the future holds as we grow and work towards providing for our community!

Hello, my name is Ann Romo! Recently, I was hired as the AHCC’s new Office Manager. Along with working alongside the Executive Director, I’m eager to support the growth of our organization and aid local businesses with the resources they need.
I am originally from Snyder, Texas, and have been living in Amarillo for the past 17 years with my husband Roland Romo and our two children, Ryan and Charlie. Due to my son’s autism, I have a huge passion for autism advocacy and inclusion. Additionally, I am one of the co-founders of our parent-teacher group Autism United, which supports and assists AU Resource teachers in AMAISD. This May, our daughter will graduate from West Texas A&M with a degree in Music Therapy. I am so proud of our two children who have helped me become the person I am today. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for them as well as what I can bring to the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber.
Roland is a Regional Account Executive for AmeriPride / Aramark Corporation. Originally from Snyder, TX, Roland joined AmeriPride Services in 2012. He and his wife Ann are co-founders of Autism United. A non-profit organization supporting teachers and families with Autism. Roland has worked with United Way and on the Amarillo High School Band Board. Roland is a catechist instructor at St. Thomas Catholic Church. He is the father of two children, Hannah and Ryan.
Michael Gonzales is the Public Affairs Manager for Atmos Energy and has worked for the company for over 14 years. He has held various leadership roles in Customer Service, Dispatch, and Operations. He was born and raised in Amarillo TX and graduated from Amarillo High School. He also graduated from Amarillo College and is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Wayland Baptist University. Michael is married to his wife, Jacquelyn, and has a son, Christian, 8 years old and daughter Isabella, 2 years old.
Oscar Cremer is a Vice President of Commercial Lending at FirstBank Southwest. Oscar comes from Tulsa, OK and is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and earned his MBA at Southern Nazarene University. He has spent the last 15 years in the sales and finance industry, including business development for a national insurance company, and an Adjunct Professor of Business with Oral Roberts University.
Oscar has served on the board of directors for local chambers of commerce and local churches in the Tulsa metro area and was nominated as a candidate for Bixby Citizen of the Year. He has a passion for business development and community growth.
HAPPY STATE BANK
Yolanda Castillo is a native from Dumas but has lived in Amarillo for the past 12 years now. She has been employed with Happy State Bank for 7 years as AVP Branch Operations Manager of the Teckla location in Amarillo. Yolanda currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In previous years, she has volunteered for March of Dimes Signature Chef, Eveline Rivers Christmas Project, High-Plains Food Bank, Amarillo Chamber City Block Party, Meals on Wheels, United Way and Amarillo Parade of Homes. She also enjoys being involved in the community and getting to know new people. To Yolanda, the feeling of enriching others and knowing that she has a positive impact in other people’s lives is what motivates her. She has a nephew and a niece that she dearly loves spending time with. Yolanda also enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Cortes Agency – Farmers Insurance
Gladys Cortes is a native of El Paso, TX. Gladys is the V.P of Operations at the Cortes Agency-Farmers Insurance. She opened doors together with agent Ruben Cortes, in April 2014. Gladys currently serves on the Executive Board of the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Gladys believes in investing in her community, she volunteers with March of Dimes, United Way, High Plains Food Bank amongst other nonprofits in Amarillo. Gladys alongside Ruben have one son, Ruben IV. They enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends & spoiling their French bulldog, Bleu.
COLONIAL LIFE INSURANCE DIRECT SALES MANAGER
Helen Burton has been District Sales Manager for Colonial Life since 2005. Helen has maintained one of the top sales districts for the Southwest Region. Helen served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves in the following: Amarillo Museum of Art Board of Directors, The Bridge, Colonial Hispanic Advisory Committee. Her community involvement includes: Los Barrios de Amarillo, Rotary and others. Helen has been a member of Grace Calvary for over ten years. She enjoys oil painting, reading, scrapbooking, and anything that allows her to be creative. Helen has one daughter, one granddaughter, and resides in Amarillo with her husband, Ray Burton.
AMIGOS UNITED STORE DIRECTOR
Raymond Gaitan is a native of Hereford, TX. Raymond is the Store Director at Amigos. Raymond serves on the Advisory Council for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is on the Board of Directors with The Wesley Community Center and serves on the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) committee for Caprock High School. Raymond is the father of four sons and has seven Grandchildren.
OWNER LA FIESTA RESTAURANTS, INC.
A native from Muleshoe, Texas, Roy Bara attended West Texas State University in 1976 & 1977. Roy is married to Betty Faye Pedroza. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Roy opened the doors to his first restaurant “La Fiesta Grande” in Amarillo in 1983 and his second location in 1987. He specializes in Fine Mexican cuisine from Tex-Mex to authentic Mexican Food as well as gourmet food. His company also owns La Fiesta Grande Catering and Caterings by Roy. He serves on the Executive Board of the Amarillo Area Foundation as Treasurer and also as the chairman of the Board for the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation. Roy is the President of the Amarillo Opera and serves on the Executive Board of the Amarillo Symphony. He also serves on the Board of the Texas Restaurant Association.
FIRSTBANK SOUTHWEST SVP OF OPERATIONS
Annette Asencio is a native of Hereford, TX. Annette is a SVP, Bank Operations Manager and BSA Officer for FirstBank Southwest. She has over 34 years of banking experience. She currently oversees back office deposit processing, electronic banking, identity theft prevention, Bank Secrecy Act compliance, vendor management and risk management. She served as a representative for FirstBank Southwest on the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2008 to 2015. She also served as Chairman of the AHCC Board in 2011 and 2012. She currently serves on the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board.
Charlie Sanchez is a lifelong resident of Amarillo, TX. He obtained his Safety Certification in CHST-Construction Safety Health. He is an instructor at UT Arlington teaching safety courses. He is a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral where he is a lecturer and an audio/visual technician. He is actively involved in the Amarillo community through the United Way Campaign and Los Barrios de Amarillo. He is the past president of Amarillo Center City and past chairman of Center City Block Party. His hobbies include playing golf, watching Turner Classic Movies and gourmet cooking.
This is Brent’s second time to serve on the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “I’m excited about the path and future of the Chamber,” says Brent. In his role as General Manager of NewsChannel 10, Telemundo and Mundo FM this is a perfect fit for the organizations to work together and make a positive impact in the community. Brent looks forward to using the past board experience and community service to help the board as needed. Connecting the people and needs is a passion of his and the mission of the Hispanic Chamber and his organization go hand in hand to empower the local business community to connect with the regional hispanic community. As Amarillo continues to grow, so do the needs around us. “This is the time for us all to work together to build a strong and vibrant community.”
CITY OF AMARILLO
Michael is a lifelong resident of Amarillo; he is married and has three children. He has attended Amarillo College, West Texas State University and is a recent Graduate as a Certified Public Manager from Texas Tech University. He is employed with the City of Amarillo (26 years) and currently holds the position of Transportation Superintendent. He is also a board member of Southwest AMBUCS and has participated in America’s Promise with AISD since 2000 and is currently an advisor to Amarillo College Industrial Technology Program.
BUDWEISER DISTRIBUTING COMPANY
A native from Dalhart, TX, Steve moved to Amarillo in 1984. Steve is a 29 year veteran at Budweiser and is the A.M. Shift Supervisor in the warehouse. Steve has helped with the Eveline Rivers Christmas Project for many years and he is involved with the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Drive.
LA FIESTA GRANDE
Betty and her husband, Roy, have owned and operated La Fiesta for 32 years and they have 3 wonderful children and 4 amazing grandchildren. They have lived in Amarillo since 1983. Betty has served on many boards in the Amarillo area. She has served on the Amarillo Area Foundation Internal Relationship Committee, Wesley Community Center Board, Amarillo Opera Board, Amarillo Independent School District’s Citizens Facilities Committee, Girl Scouts Five Star Council, and she is involved with many more community organizations. Education and Community are important to Betty.
Manuel Tovar is the Director of Ethnic Marketing at Affiliated Foods Inc., with responsibilities for marketing programs, brand management and corporate sponsorships. Prior to Joining Affiliated Foods, he worked in strategic business development and marketing at several companies and served in different staff positions. Notable is his 11 years with HEB Supermarkets and his 5 years as Localized Manager. Manuel’s greatest strength is his creativity, drive and leadership. His most recent project involved a strategic program to increase the international product lines offered at Affiliated Foods. Manuel is past a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters in San Antonio and currently involved in Amarillo’s program. He has also been involved with United Way, YMCA, Church Organizations and many volunteer programs.
REED BEVERAGE OF AMARILLO
Jeremy Herrera is a Native from Eunice NM, a small town located about 20 miles south of Hobbs NM. He moved to Canyon Texas in the Spring of 2003 to attend West Texas A&M University. He is a graduate of West Texas University as he earned his Bachelors in 2005 and MBA in 2008. He then moved to Amarillo TX, in 2008 and took on the GM-Bar manager job at Buffalo Wild Wings on Coulter and turned it to the #1 franchise location from 2006-2009 for gross sales. In 2011 he joined Great Western Distributing later to be named Reed Beverage of Amarillo as their Chain Account manager. Jeremy brings 7 years of experience in sales, promotions, and Category management and analytic discoveries. He graduated from MillerCoors Learning solutions for Introduction to Space Planning and Advanced Space Planning. Has major clients/buyers such as United Supermarkets, Wal-Mart , Allsups, Toot n Totum, Pak A Sak, Lowes , Stripes and many others and has been recognized with several awards during his short career. Jeremy has served on the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board, United Way of Amarillo & Canyon as a team Leader, Coors Cowboy Club, Molson Coors Leaders of the Future, MGA at Tascosa and La Paloma and is a member of St. Mary’s church. Colleagues know Jeremy as a highly passionate person who can always be trusted to come up with a new approach. He Takes Pride in serving to help promote education, help new and old business grow and especially serve his community.
Linda is an Amarillo native. She has 4 sons and 12 grandchildren. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has been with Xcel Energy for 14 years, where she holds a supervisor position for Residential Customer Service.
LOVELL, LOVELL, ISERN & FARABOUGH:
Melissa Smith is a Licensed Court Interpreter and a Certified Paralegal. She has been with Lovell, Lovell, Isern & Farabough, LLP for over 15 years. She handles immigration, personal injury and civil litigation cases and loves being in the courtroom. Melissa graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. She also does video/audio production and graphic design in her spare time. Melissa is on the board of the Wesley Community Center and is a member of Los Barrios de Amarillo, Texas Panhandle Paralegal Association, and is involved in various community projects. She is married to Sergio and has 2 boys, Ivan and Edgar.
AMARILLO NATIONAL BANK
Asiria Torres and was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised in Mexico. She came to the United States at 17 and faced many struggles. While working and paying her own way through school she was able to graduate from Palo Duro High School. She continued to work while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from West Texas A&M University. During that time, she met her husband and had her first child all while trying to finish her education. During her time at West Texas A&M University, she started working at Amarillo National Bank as an Internal Auditor and had her second child. Asiria is now the Mortgage Loans Servicing Collections Manager at Amarillo National Bank.
Lisa Torres is a Black Belt in the Lean Six Sigma organization were she manages the Escalation and Value Stream Element Team Program at CNS Pantex. As the VSET and Escalation program manager Lisa develops and deploys Continuous Improvement cross-functional teams focused on identifying and implementing sustained improvements to increase greater productivity and efficiency.
Lisa leads teams through Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to assess the effectiveness of business processes and offers recommendations for improvement. She fosters an environment of team work by bolstering communication and collaboration at every level to ensure the vision is executed. Lisa is responsible for project management and has a strong background in facilitating teams through critical thinking and problem solving, coaching, and training. She is a skilled Change Manager and embodies the leadership, soft skills, and strategic analysis necessary to cultivate change.
Lisa is passionate about helping others. She serves on the board of a Veterans Affinity Group; Serving our Service members. Outside of work Lisa enjoys volunteering at her church, running, and watching her kids play sports.
